Rethinking the New Normal – Day 17 of 15

It is April 2, 2020. I had a positive, highly productive day today. The boys are now in bed, and I am just now finding time to write. I went for a 7 mile run early this morning, aside from that my productivity was completely on a work front. Over the weekend, I will be unplugging from work to get stuff done on the home front, namely more structure around homeschool. I am worried that Brainy Bird is not getting his school work done. I am not sure how to go about monitoring this.

Little Chirp is taking his violin and basketball skills to the next level while we are under the stay at home order. He keeps asking me when his basketball league will start again, and I have no idea how to answer that. If he keeps practicing at the rate that he is, he should make the seventh grade basketball team, which would be amazing.

The highlight of the day was unwinding with a movie. We watched Disney’s, “The Love Bug”. Little Chirp said through out the movie that the movie was TERRIBLE. The movie is really bad, but good on some level, if that makes any sense. Next week is the “week of Mom”, where I get to choose all of the meals and family activities. I think I may plan a week of torture with classic Disney movies.

It is late (for me), and I need to get to bed. I have another long work day ahead tomorrow.

Good night.
