For weeks, Little Chirp had been anticipating his Easter morning Easter Egg hunt. Brainy Bird and I loved listening to him talk about it. According to Little Chirp, someone would say, “Ready, set go!”, and the Easter Egg hunt would begin. He would find lots of eggs, including a golden egg!
My sister hid all the Easter eggs, while the boys and I slept in. There was major excitement when Little Chirp got up and found out that the bunny had paid him a visit. We said, “Ready, set go!”, and the Easter Egg hunt was underway.
The boys zipped out of the house both passing by the large purple Easter egg in plain sight in the window sill.
Little Chirp was quick to claim the right side of the yard, which is the side of the house that the purple egg sat in. He ran back and forth passing it at least a dozen times. At times he would look all around and say that he could not find anymore, all the while the purple egg was a few feet away.
The purple egg didn’t say anything, but it looked as if it felt lonely sitting there unnoticed for so long. Big brother had finally picked his side of the yard clean, and he went over to scavenger what was left in Little Chirp’s section. It was funny to watch them run back and forth arguing over eggs that they both seemed to find at the time all the while passing by the lonely purple egg.
Before it was all over one of the B’s finally picked up the purple egg. I am not sure if they did so on their on or if sister or brother pointed it out to them.
I think that we have all felt like the purple Easter egg at times in our lives.
