It is late for me. This may be the first time ever, that I have used my iPad while at home. I normally use my iPad on the airplane when I am traveling for work. I almost did not get cellular service for the iPad when I switched service providers yesterday, given the fact that I never use it anymore. Considering the fact that the iPad is connected to my home wifi and in airplane mode at the moment makes me think that I should not have gotten service for it.
I sent the boys to bed early, and I watched another episode of The Americans from my room on my iPad. Now, Potatoe is snuggled up next to me, fast asleep.
I am ready for a good night sleep too.
I sent the boys to bed early tonight because Brainy Bird got in trouble today for not having his school work done in two of his classes. He gets to start his day at 6:00 AM every morning until he is caught up with his school work. I suspect that this means he will catch up quickly. Obviously, the whole situation frustrates me as a parent.
I imagine that this is a weird time to be a teenager. All that I cared about when I was a teenager was seeing my friends. This is all compounded with the uncertainty of if and when school will start again. I have said it before, my heart goes out to high school seniors. I am glad that Brainy Bird has another year of high school left.
I am worried about how his AP testing is going to go. A big part of Brainy Bird’s college applications is his test scores. I am praying that they are back in the class room in the fall and that Brainy Bird gets another chance at the SAT. All we can do is wait and see.
“Wait and see” is one of my least favorite phrases these days.
