I got up early, and it feels later than noon to me. I am sitting on my back porch with Potatoe, drinking coffee and enjoying the glorious weather. I had breakfast with my friend Laurie early this month, and she commented that the beautiful weather has been one of the things that has helped her cope with everything that has been going on during the “New Normal”. Today is another example of such weather.
My backyard is completely shaded at the moment and it will be for another hour or so. This makes the swing in the yard quite appealing. I need to build a little table on the pole that supports the swing, so I have a place for my coffee, while I am typing on my computer. Funny, the people that owned the house before me built the swing, and they installed a power outlet on the pole of the swing. I have yet to think of a great use for that. My friends suggested it is to charge a cell phone. I like to be as far away from my phone as possible when I am relaxing.
Both Storme and Trooper are enjoying a nap inside the house, and Pumpkine is out and about, but I do not see her at the moment. Our two usual squirrels are pecking about the backyard looking for lunch. The squirrels scramble at any sign of movement from the cats, but they just stare at Potatoe walking in the backyard. They are accurate in their danger assessment; I am just not sure how they have made the assessment.
The breeze is so gentle, and it feels amazing.
I have yet to decide where Potatoe and I will be having dinner tonight. R&R Crafthouse has Potatoe’s favorite patio, but I was wanting a steak and glass of wine. Perry’s would be my first choice, but Potatoe cannot go, and their bar seating is not open, and I do not want to take up a whole table for one person. Such a first world problem that I have on my hands!
As we get ready for another week of the “New Normal”, I will make the most of everyday, but I am ready for the world to reopen.
