It is the first Sunday in July of the year of uncertainty and chaos. I spent the day working to get ahead of my work week. The fur kids spent the day recovering from being awake most of the night, scared by the noise of the fireworks. All three kitties are now outside running around excitedly in the backyard, as if they have never been outside. Potatoe is snuggled up under the table that I now call my office desk. He feels strongly that he belongs underneath my desk while I am working.
Brainy Bird is now at camp, and Little Chirp is enjoying his time with his Aunt Roni. So far, I have reports of them eating pizza from a local pizzeria, playing video games, playing Farkle, and making a run to Walgreens for cookies. How did Uncle Robert forget cookies when he did the grocery shopping?
Speaking of grocery shopping, I have not done mine yet. I am not really sure what my meal plans are for the two weeks that they boys are going to be gone. My sister wants me to try a meal delivery service. I might actually do this. It does cost a little more than planning my own meals and going to the grocery store, but when one considers all of the extra stuff that I buy that I do not need when I go to the store, it is actually less expensive.
This is yet another example of a complete change in lifestyle. One of my favorite things to do each week before the virus was to make a menu and then to go grocery shopping. Now, the grocery store is a weird, uncomfortable place, enter meal delivery service that I always thought to be overpriced.
Not much to write about today with both boys gone. I am already looking forward to their return.
