The moment is perfect.

Little Chirp and I were at the grocery store just a bit ago, and he decided that he wanted to make soup for dinner tonight, so that he can heat the leftovers for lunches tomorrow. There is not a more cost effective and healthy way to go about making lunches. He decided that he was tired of chicken noodle soup. This only took about five years. He found a recipe for chicken tortellini soup, which he plans to modify to where it is basically his usual homemade chicken noodle soup with tortellini instead of noodles.

Little Chirp is now chopping up the celery and carrots for his soup. He is visibly excited about preparing a nice meal for us.

Brainy Bird just finished cutting up the onion and chicken, and he is now playing an indoor game of fetch with Potatoe. Potatoe loves his new Christmas toy. This is more like a game of hide and seek than fetch. Funny, Potatoe ran off with the toy, so Brainy Bird started petting Storme. Potatoe saw Storme getting the attention, and immediately ran to Brainy Bird to give him back the toy for another run of fetch.

This is a great way to start off a big week. Brainy Bird has his semester final exams this week. He will find out if he is accepted into the University of South Carolina on Tuesday, and he will get his SAT score back later on in the week. That all seems backwards. He will have the score to apply for any other schools and scholarships that having a higher score may put into reach.

We have decided to go out to dinner on Tuesday regardless of the outcome of the University of South Carolina acceptance. We have not gone out to eat in over a month, so this will be a big treat.

I have one more extremely long week of work. Hopefully, I will be on vacation the last two weeks of the year.

Little Chirp has another week of basketball practice, and then he will be focusing his energy on Christmas. For our family, Christmas is about the activities we are going to do together, and we do like to eat a nice meal or two. We do not go big on presents for one another. We play games and watch movies.

There will be so many little things that make these last 19 days of 2020 special.
