Life is anything but ordinary. We are 12 days into the new year. Our Congress is busy working to impeach the president that leaves office before the end of the month. This is the top priority while small business owners across the US shutter. If I were a newly elected member of congress, I am not sure what I would do in my first days. I would like to think that I would do something that would help those that voted me into office.

In my limited understanding, the major purposes of impeaching the president are defamation of his character, thus serving one’s need for revenge, and the second purpose is that he will never be able to run for office again. Let’s break that down, the revenge in no way serves the greater good. Second, voters can decide whether or not he should ever be in office again. Would I vote for him? Absolutely not! Do I need Congress to decide that for me here and now? Absolutely not!

Congress is all about keep their cushy jobs. The side of the aisle that career politicians are on is only decided by what they think will keep them there the longest. Maybe some arrived with great ideals and purpose, but all are absorbed by into the greed and corruption by their third term.

I wish that all of my friends that are divisive on one side or the other of the Republican and Democratic parties would come to realize that we are all not that different. The problem is not our difference in ideas. The problem is the media that drives us to hate one another. The problem is the career politicians that are committed to their livelihoods and fat paychecks as members of Congress at the expense of our nation.

Tomorrow, we will be back to fur kid stories, and focusing on the little things in life that make life beautiful. Tonight, I am too aggravated with where our new Congress is spending my tax dollars to think about much else.
