The day got off to the same dreary start as its predecessor. The forecast called for a full day of cloud cover and rain. Instead, clouds loom in the distance, but the sun has paid us a much needed visit. Potatoe and I just got back from a walk around the neighborhood. He got to stop and get attention from a sweet little girl in the neighborhood, so he is extra happy.
Trooper is asleep in his basket by the fireplace, but there has not been a fire burning the past few days. Pumpkine is snuggled up in her favorite blanket on the couch. Storme is out and about, presumably enjoying the sunshine.
I am finally completely over whatever flu or cold I was fighting all week last week. I enjoyed and good night sleep, and I am ready to tackle the week. I spent most of my day planning the week and helping one of my coworkers with some tasks to get a head start on the week.
Brainy Bird spent his day working on scholarship applications. He just finished the research paper, and he now has just four more essays to write. I am sure that he will find additional scholarship opportunities, and this will lead to more essays to write, but he should have a bit of a break once he finishes these last four.
Little Chirp returns home tomorrow, and he is going to find that no one went to the grocery store this weekend. Doh! I did not want to go yesterday in case I was still contagious with whatever made me so sick this past week, and we did not have time to plan meals, make a list or get to the store today. It will be a week of potluck from the freezer, until I run out of coffee. 😝
The single upside to Little Chirp fracturing his wrist is that he gets to go with us to visit the Carolinas next weekend. When I first booked the trip, I did some research on locally owned restaurants to try while we are there. The planning felt empty without the idea of Little Chirp, the family foodie being with us. I plan to spend a little time with him tomorrow looking at our options.
As we kick off this new week, my health is top of mind. I am so relieved to be feeling better. I am grateful for my health. Now, I need to focus some attention on my diet and getting back into shape!
