Monday, Monday by the Mamas and the Papas is playing on my Amazon music right now. Mom LOVED the Mamas and Papas. My only love for them is the fact that my mother loved them. She passed away before the scandal of the daughter’s incestuous affair with John Phillips came to light.

Hearing it now, I think that Monday, Monday is my least favorite song by the Mamas and the Papas. I have now moved on to Monday Morning by Fleetwood Mac. I like them enough that I saw them in concert once.

I secretly like Monday mornings, don’t tell anyone.

I am happy to again be waking up early on Monday mornings with a positive attitude and a feeling of excitement for what the week may bring. I cannot say that things have really changed since 2020. I think that it is a change in my mindset.

Speaking of looking forward to things:

  • Brainy Bird finished the last of his college scholarship applications yesterday. I am looking forward to the weeks ahead of being able to have our family time together. I miss the era when the boys were young and always had time for cooking dinner as a family and playing games afterwards. Now, the days are few and far between, and we are running out of days before Brainy Bird goes off to college.
  • I am looking forward to our trip to visit the colleges in the Carolinas.
  • I am looking forward to Brainy Bird’s 18th birthday next week. I Googled everything that one can do (legally) when they turn 18, and this is what I came up with:
    • Vote
    • Serve on a jury
    • Marry without parental consent
    • Get a credit report
    • Get a tattoo
    • Donate blood
    • Sign contracts
    • Buy fireworks
    • Buy lottery tickets
    • Buy spray paint
    • Adopt an animal
    • Get a credit card
    • Work at any job

There is way more that one can do when they turn 18 than I realized! It is an exciting time in Brainy Bird’s life. He will wake up on a Monday to go to high school only 17 more times. I can hardly believe it. The time went by so quickly, but I look at all that he has done in just 18 years, and I wonder how it is possible to do so much in so little time.

Stormy Monday by the Allman Brothers is now playing. The title fits as it a Monday with overcast skies and a high probability of rain through out the day. The song doesn’t fit my outlook on Monday. That is okay. I like the music that my parents listened to from time to time.

It is now time to start my Monday work day. Have a great work week all!
