My mini vacation began 36 minutes ago. I finally got a much needed night of rest last night, and I feel great. I attended my morning meetings, and then I went to get the boys packed. Brainy Bird’s idea of packing is to have everything perfectly folded and ready to go. Little Chirp’s idea of packing is to have a load of laundry in the washer.
In about 10 minutes, I will head to the junior high school to pick up Little Chirp. Meanwhile, Brainy Bird will be signing himself out of school, which he can do now that he is 18. We will all meet back at the house. Brainy Bird will watch while the rest of his family finishes packing and likely wonder why this is so hard for us to get done the night before. We will feed the fur kids and then we will be off to the airport.
We fly into Charlotte, NC where we will stay the night. The next day we head to the University of South Carolina for our walking tour. I am more than a little excited about this. On Saturday, we will visit North Carolina State and the University of North Carolina. It is incredible how many exciting college options Brainy Bird has.
This is our first vacation since 2019. I am so excited to be able to have this time with the boys before Brainy Bird heads off to college in the fall.
