It is a beautiful Saturday in March of 2021. I am in the extra room in the house, with the windows open, enjoying a cool, constant breeze. Yesterday, I went to a client site for the first time in over a year. There were only a few of us there, and we all wore masks. It felt good to be back at the office, collaborating with my client and coworkers. Ordering in for lunch was a special treat.

While I am writing, I am watching day 2 of March Madness. Florida State is playing UNC Greensboro. Florida State has led the whole game, but Greensboro is not going away, trailing by just 5 with a few minutes left on the clock. The stands are empty, yet another sign that things are far from normal.

My best friend, Yvonne is home sick from the COVID vaccine. I am hoping that she feels better tomorrow and can join us for Melting Pot to continue the celebration of the month of Little Chirp.

There is still a great deal of news of storages of the vaccine. The vaccine is readily available here in Houston. I am not sure if that is to the credit of the state of Texas or the city of Houston or the federal government, but I am grateful that the vaccine is available for those that choose to be vaccinated.

Sadly, Little Chirp was crying just a bit ago. I think that he is sad that his brother is leaving for college in about months. Brainy Bird is now trying to cheer him up with a trip to Dairy Queen. The kid loves his Dairy Queen.

Potatoe is with me, laying on the little couch that is in the extra room. Pumpkine and Storme are out enjoying the incredible weather. Trooper is asleep in one of the baskets by the fireplace. Trooper is definitely a nocturnal creature.

I have a few hours of work to get done that can wait until tomorrow morning. It feels so good to have some free time today. I should work in the yard. The freeze wrecked it, but I want to take sometime to relax. I would say, “relax and smell the roses,” but the roses all died in the freeze. I have plans to go for a long run today, and then to play games with Little Chirp. I want to make a habit of having unplugged time with Little Chirp.

Later this evening, I am planning some me time in the form of hot tea on my back porch. I am going to map out my new book idea and a plan to get my book done by the end of the year.

Now it is time to unplug and go enjoy this gorgeous day. Thank you for stopping by to read my thoughts.
