It is 57 degrees outside, and I have the large windows in my front room open. This is a peaceful way to start a Friday work day. I have a busy work day ahead. I got up extra early to get all of my morning chores done and start work by 6 AM.
Something went wrong with the brewing of my coffee this morning. It is warm water with a hint of coffee flavoring. I can either finish this blog post, or re-make the coffee. I am going with finishing the blog post.
Potatoe is sound asleep on his little bed next to my desk. He is not happy about me getting up before 4 AM. He is also tired from his full day of doggie daycare yesterday. I never thought I would be a person that takes their dog to daycare, but he LOVES it.
Storme is on the other side of the screen of the open window meowing to get in. At some point, he will realize that he needs to find a door to get inside the house and stop waking Potatoe up. Trooper is sound asleep in his basket by the fireplace after eating all his breakfast and most of his sister’s. The little sister kitty is playing outside.
Little Chirp turns 13 on Saturday. I am pretending to forget his last few days of the month of Kyle and throwing him a mini surprise party for him next Saturday. It is Easter weekend, so I am going to have a little Easter egg hunt. Brainy Bird is going to cook something special, we have not yet decided what that will be. I thought about serving rabbit, but I am not sure the parents of his party guests would appreciate their children being served rabbit right before an Easter egg hunt.
Some time in the eleven days, Brainy Bird will hear from the last three colleges that he applied to. He did not apply for early decision at any university. Early decision is binding, the applicants are notified in the fall semester or January, depending on the college. Some colleges do not have early action, which gives applicants an earlier notification, but is not binding. For colleges without early action, that just leaves regular decision. This is the case with the last three colleges.
All of the top ranked colleges have receive more applications than ever before, and some, including all of the ivy league schools, have postponed the decision date until April 6th. So we wait…
Storme did in fact find his way to the front door. The animals normally come in and out the back door. The opening of the front door required Potatoe and Trooper to wake from their slumbers to see who came in the door. They both looked annoyed when they realized that it was Storme. Storme is now asleep on top of my laptop, which is closed as it is docked to my monitors, keyboard and mouse.
While my fur kids sleep, it is time to start my work day. Happy Friday.
