Today is expected to be a stormy day, literally, not figuratively. I like a little bad weather when I am snuggled up at home with my fur kids. Little Chirp and I had a quiet morning. I found myself observing how methodical he is the process of making his lunch. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him look over at me to see if I was watching how many Oreo cookies he packed. I pretended to not be looking.

I am in back to back meetings today, until I leave the house in the nick of time to pick Little Chirp up from basketball practice. I am looking forward to this. Yesterday, the traffic on the way back home was insane, so we decided to dine out near where he practices to wait out traffic. We enjoyed our dinner together. We had a great conversation, and our food was amazing.

Tonight, Little Chirp gets to decide if we go back to the same place or try another new place. He did not even want to give me half a ravioli, and he continued to scoop the sauce and mushrooms off his plate once the ravioli was gone. He loved it. I fully expect that he will want to return.

When we get home this evening, we will likely play Yahtzee, and I want to watch the movie, “Young Sherlock Holmes.” We are currently watching the “Irregulars” on Netflix, and this has me thinking back through all of the Sherlock Holmes movies that I have seen. “Young Sherlock Holmes” has always been my favorite.

Little Chirp and I are having a little taste of what life will be like just the two us when Brainy Bird leaves for college in the fall. Brainy Bird is in South Carolina right now. He is visiting the University of South Carolina campus with his dad. He has already committed to the university, and he is more than a little excited. More on Brainy Bird is coming in a post later today.

Have a happy Friday!
