It is May 1st of 2021. Today is known as college decision day. Most colleges give accepted students until May 1st to enroll. I think most high school seniors make their decision on what university to attend prior to today, but something about today makes the decision feel official.

During the application process, I could not wait for April to get here. Most colleges provide a response to applicants by April 1st, so April marks the end of the application process. April got here, and then April flew by.

Now, we have just one month of school left. The month will consist of AP exams, Brainy Bird’s prom, senior picnic, top 10% breakfast, and graduation. Every week of May something big is happening. Starting with three AP exams next week.

Three AP exams means that Brainy Bird is tucked away in the garage apartment studying all weekend. He plans to take a break at some point to take Little Chirp to get a haircut. Little Chirp is getting an hour of video game time at the moment. It is rainy and horribly humid outside, so not a great day to hit the basketball court.

Little Chirp is teasing me that he did not turn in his final orchestra assignment on time, which means that he will fail orchestra. I asked Little Chirp repeatedly about the progress of the assignment, and the banter is to teach me to get off his case.

Potatoe has a friend over, Oreo. Oreo is a Boston Terrier. The two are running around the backyard raising a ruckus. I hope that none of my neighbors are trying to get an afternoon nap. The two doggos have every dog on the street barking.

Storme and Trooper are hiding in the backyard some where. My sweet little Pumkine has the master bedroom all to herself. She hates being away from the other animals, but she had major surgery yesterday, and she needs time to heel. I feel tired today. She had me up from 3 AM to 8 AM this morning. She did not like wearing her cone, and she was not done until she managed to untie it and take it off. So far, it seems like she is leaving her stitches alone, so she is okay without her cone.

I plan to spend the rest of the day planning May and the summer. There is plenty of planning to do – prom, graduation party, summer vacation, and summer camps. There is so much to look forward to!
