There is just a bit of light left in tonight’s sky. One of my neighbors is burning brush, but the smell is not ruining the night air as it can at times. I do wish that my neighbors would stick to burning things on hot, yucky days, where no one wants to be outside.

Tonight is not one of those hot, yucky days. Tonight is a beautiful, cool evening. The breeze picks up every now and again as if to draw our attention back to the beautiful evening.

Potatoe is sitting at the edge of the covered area of the porch on the look out for the raccoons that habitually raid our kitties’ food each evening. Storme is sitting on one of the chairs at the table with me. Pumpkine and Trooper are out and about.

Pumpkine is still recovering from her surgery. This is her second time to be outside, this is her second time to escape out the door. I have noticed that she is staying close by. She just wants outside; she knows she is still healing and needs to stay close. I suspect that she will let me pick her up and take her inside for the night when I call it a night.

The boys are at their dad’s house tonight. Brainy Bird has rehearsal for his senior awards ceremony tomorrow. I did not know that rehearsal for awards ceremonies was a thing. Then on Saturday, he has his senior prom. A close friend of ours is cooking prom dinner for Brainy Bird and ten of his friends. That is pretty amazing. I am excited for him.

Little Chirp continues to crush it in school. His grades are exceptional. We are enjoying our trips to the gym together. We also enjoyed planning activities for our summer vacation.

As a family, we are all excited about the future, but we are embracing every moment together in the present.
