The sun is shining early this morning for the first time in more than a week. The ground is saturated from all the rain, and the sunshine is exactly what we need.
Brainy Bird and Little Chirp are at their dad’s house this weekend, which gives me time to myself. I am at my desk as if it is a work day. Storme paced around my chair and whined until I got him a chair, so that he could sit snuggle up next to me. Potatoe then went underneath my desk, so he could put his head in my lap and give me his sad little puppy eyes, until I got a second chair for him to snuggle up on the other side of me. Pupkine is perched on the bar looking out the front window.
Trooper undoubtedly found a quieter spot in the house for his morning nap. The iRobot is vacuuming the room that the rest of us are in, and Trooper does not like the noise.
I am still trying to decide how to spend my day. I normally wake up on Saturday morning with a to do list that is a mile long. I intentionally made no list this weekend. I was so tired yesterday, I just wanted to rest today. Now, that I have a good night of rest behind me, and the sun is shining, I no longer want to sleep all day.
I think that I will spend my day engaged in my favorite activity – planning! I already made a calendar for the remainder of 2021, and I booked a number of exciting activities. Today, I will start making daily itineraries for the many special days ahead. But first, I am going to pour the last cup of my morning coffee.
