I am laying in bed with the back of the bed raised. Potatoe lays next to me in what was Pumpkine’s spot to lay while I laid in bed, typing on my laptop. By the third sentence, Pumpkine would be purring. I miss that purr. With Potatoe laying in Pumpkine’s spot, I can’t type as well as he takes up a lot more room than little Pumpkine. The space to my right side, where Potatoe normally lays, sits empty.
Little Chirp is out on his basketball court. It is about 8:30 in the evening, late for basketball, but the weather just became tolerable. The temperature does not drop below 90 degrees until well after the sunsets.
I spent a good part of the day decorating for fall. To my delight, Little Chirp pitched in on the effort. He took the reigns on putting the candles out. He did a great job. I am pleased with the way that everything turned out.
I also purchased two candles for his new study, which he likes. I got twine and a charm in the shape of a globe and one in the shape of a compass. I had Little Chirp thread the charms onto the twine, and then tie them around the top of the candles. They go perfectly with the overall look of his study. I am on a roll. Our final purchase for his new study would be a curtain and curtain rod, but the internet is out, and I find it difficult to do things like that from my phone.
The internet has been down since around noon. It is like the freeze minus the really cold weather. I wonder if I will get another twenty-five-dollar credit on my bill as I did during the freeze.
Trooper is laying on the back of an old sofa chair in Little Chirp’s study. Trooper’s new favorite room of the house is Little Chirp’s study. Trooper gazes out the window as is he is thinking what I am thinking. I know he misses the other cats. I am worried about him. He is so lethargic. When he does move, he moves about the house crying for his siblings. Sometimes it takes me awhile to console him.
Potatoe tries to help comfort Trooper, and I find this incredibly enduring. The two spent a good part of the day snuggled up on the couch together. Now, that Potatoe is right next to me, and I can smell him, I wonder if Trooper has no sense of smell, or if he is just that lonely.
Little Chirp and I furthered toyed with the idea of getting the Siamese cat we saw on NextDoor. I Googled cat names for Siamese cats, while he drew in his sketch bad with his new charcoal pencils. For a kid that never took an art class, Little Chirp can draw.
Little Chirp is a hard no on the name Tao for the Siamese cat. Names he likes include S’more, Oliver, Owen, and Apollo. He says his all-time favorite cat’s name is Snowball. We both know that it really only fits all white cats, and all white cats are difficult to find. The internet is down; otherwise, I would have looked to see if Mandy is still on the rescue page for adoption. I guess I do not have to look. I know she is still there; no one wants a scrawny little tortie. Well, nobody that has never had one before wants one. I wonder how Mandy feels about stinky pooches.
