I was so tired this morning that I dreamed that I slept until Monday morning. This felt completely plausible. For about fifteen minutes when I got out of bed this morning, I actually thought that it was Monday. Having already accepted that I missed Sunday; I decided to take the day off today.

What happens if I get nothing done today?

  • I did not finish Little Chirp’s study, and I will not finish it today. It will be there tomorrow. With his help, I can easily finish it tomorrow evening.
  • I will have to start my work day a couple of hours earlier tomorrow. If I actually get some rest today, that won’t be so bad.
  • The menu and the grocery shopping will not be done. With a text message, I can delegate this important task to Little Chirp. He is a master at meal planning, and HEB delivery is magical.
  • I will not get any exercise if I do not go running. I cannot delegate exercise to someone else; however, I can go for a long walk with Potatoe instead of going for a run. My body needs to break, and this would certainly make my sweet Potatoe happy.
  • The house will not be cleaned. Well…there’s that. The rooms that we have finished organizing are in great shape. My room, my bathroom, and Kyle’s bathroom are a mess. What is one more week of them being a mess? Funny, Potatoe does not seem to appreciate the mess, but he doesn’t say anything.

So then, what will I do today? I like that question. I have a couple of blog posts that I want to write. I want to call Brainy Bird and catch up on how his leadership retreat went this weekend. Hopefully, it went better than his college’s football game yesterday. I want to do some planning and some reading. I want to actually watch the Texans game at noon.

All of this sounds great, but I think that I will first snuggle up on the couch with Potatoe, Trooper, and a cup of hot coffee. It is the simple things in life…
