It is only seven thirty in the evening. I would be asleep right now if I could get comfortable. I feel completely wiped out. I think that my exhaustion is a combination of getting up at three in the morning and getting vaccinated earlier today. Aside from the extreme fatigue, my only other symptom from the vaccine is that my arm is hurting. I can’t seem to lay in a way that I am comfortable enough to fall asleep.
Potatoe had been laying on my legs, which he often does if I am awake in bed. I moved around so much that he has now relocated to a spot right next to me. He lays his head on the pillow next to me as if he is a person that belongs there. He knows he is not supposed to get on the bed sheets; he also knows that I will let him away with it at times.
Little Chirp does not have school tomorrow because of Tropical Storm Nicholas. He is in the kitchen baking cookies. I realized I had forgotten to buy ice and had to go back to the store. He asked me to bring him cookies to bake. I do not think that we will lose power, but I do not want to lose of my refrigerated food in the event that the power does go out, so I got ice, and Little Chirp got his cookies to bake.
So far, all Nicholas has brought is a day off from school. We have not had much rain. Right now, my weather forecast says there is a 100% chance of rain, which I find amusing because it is not raining.
While Little Chirp is enjoying a free evening, Trooper is wandering about the house meowing. He wants to go outside. There is no way that I am going to let him outside with a tropical storm and flash flood warning in the works. It is going to be a long night.
According to Facebook, a lot of people are staying up late to keep an eye on the weather. It had not occurred to me that this needed to be done. There is really not much that I can do in the event that the house starts to flood, and it appears that we are not getting much rain at all, so I am turning out the lights and going to find a way to get comfortable enough to fall asleep.
Thank you for stopping by to read my thoughts. Have a nice evening, and if you are in Nicholas’ path, stay safe!
