Little Chirp and I are enjoying an ordinary Sunday in December. The weather is unseasonably warm, even for Houston. Little Chirp is outside at his basketball court, taking advantage of our last hour of daylight today. I am watching a Hallmark Christmas movie on my iPad, while I get organized for my work week. I think that one of the reasons people like the Hallmark Christmas movies is that they lend themselves to multi-tasking.
We started our day with Little Chirp’s first ever trip to Starbucks. We each had a breakfast sandwich, and he had a caramel brulee latte, while I had an Americano. I planned to join him in the holiday edition drinks with a peppermint mocha, but then I saw the calories on the menu, and I reverted to an Americano. After Starbucks, we headed to HEB for cat food. We then headed back to the house to wait for Costco to open. We did not actually need anything from Costco; we just like walking the aisles during Christmas to find what specials they may have. We someone how found two hundred dollars’ worth of stuff. Oops!
When we got home, I went for a run. Little Chirp made a special lunch, consisting of tuna tostadas with black beans. They were delicious. He took a great deal of delight in planning and preparing the meal. Little Chirp then proceeded to get some chores done around the house, while I got some work done.
Two more weeks of work and school, and then we are both off for the rest of the year. Brainy Bird arrives home on Sunday. I can hardly wait! It is just 20 days until Christmas, a Christmas that I am really looking forward to.
Merry Christmas!
