I woke up around three in the morning, and I could not go back to sleep. After some debate, I decided to start my day rather than heading back to bed. I am now on my second half cup of coffee. The kittens appear fully on board with the decision to get the day started. They finished gobbling their breakfast a bit ago, and they are now playing with a sheet of paper off my desk in the front room. I am sitting on my couch, knowing that I need go get up to make sure the paper is nothing important.

Potatoe is not onboard with getting the day started. He is lying next to me making a slight snore here and there. It is not a morning nap; it is a deep nighttime sleep. Trooper is in morning nap mode. He came inside just a bit ago for his breakfast. He is now hiding from the kittens, getting his morning nap.

My day will consist of some of my favorite activities: watching football, meal planning, grocery shopping, making beef stew, and running. It will also consist of one of my least favorite tasks, which is emailing my coworkers, interrupting their Sunday, asking them to enter their time, so I can get a head start on invoicing.

Fox News is on. I cannot remember the last time that I watched local news on Fox. I watch Varney and Company on Fox Business News during the week. I don’t appreciate the slight that they put on EVERYTHING, but I love Varney. I think he is one of the most likable news personalities of my time. I love that he loves America. I like watching his beautiful cohosts fact check him.

According to local news on Fox:

  • Our local economy is in a state of peril as the unemployment statistics are skewed in many ways.
  • People should not go on cruises because of increased risk of Covid. REALLY? Your viewers need you to tell them this?
  • Omicron because of its mild symptoms and highly contagious nature, could be the key to herd immunity. That would be nice. There was not enough information in the news story to intelligently draw a conclusion one way or another.
  • They are now debating the Potter conviction. Potter is a police officer that killed a man because she mistakenly drew her gun and fired instead of her taser. I did not listen closely enough to the segment to know what the stance is on this. Why does a news program have a stance?
  • It is cold in Texas. Yes, it is! 🙂

With the sunup, I am ready to go for my morning run, but I don’t think Potatoe is quite ready. Running in cold weather is one of his all-time favorite activities, so I will wait until he is ready to join me on my run. I will update the first day of progress on my 2022 goals, while I wait for him to finish his slumbers. I am pretty sure the only goal that I met yesterday was to run in a new place. This is one of my favorite 2022 goals.
