It is two-two-two-two-two Tuesday, as in the 22nd day of the 2nd month of the 22nd year in the current century. It also happens to be national margarita day. A good portion of the country will be drinking margaritas and eating tacos today. I myself will be skipping the margaritas, but I do plan to make tacos tonight for this extra special taco Tuesday.
My morning did not go as I would have hoped, but I am still feeling good about life. The big picture is a good picture, actually the big picture is a beautiful picture. While the morning did not go as well as I would have hoped, I feel energized by the positive energy of my coworker. I love the work that I do, and I love the company that I work for. This evening the picture that is my life will be filled with tacos and time with Little Chirp.
The stock market did not tank to the extreme that I expected, but it is definitely going down. My retire is literally moving out a few years with the current state of the stock market. As I said that I would be, I am unphased. I believe in the long-term value of my investments. I don’t mind if the current downturn of these investments means that I have another few years before retirement. I enjoy what I do, and I look forward to doing it another few years.
It occurs to me that my idea of retirement is being able to do what I love in life and having an affordable place to live. With that ideal, I am technically already retired all though, I am not yet to the point that I can stop saving for retirement. I guess this means I have met two-thirds of my retirement goals, with the most important of the two goals met.
It is time to shift my brain to the other half of my workday. Why do I like my job so much? First and foremost, I love the people that I work with. Secondly, I get to do lots of different things and fulfill lots of different roles. Have I mentioned that I am the happiest that I have ever been in my life?
