It is a cloudy, peaceful March Day. Brainy Bird’s on spring break and he is headed home today. He is either oversleeping in his dorm room, or he is on the shuttle, which left an hour ago, and takes students from the University of South Carolina to the Charlotte airport. Long gone are the days that I micromanage him. I do hope that he made the shuttle, the change fees for his flight home would be the rest of his spending money this semester and then some.
It is only 7:30 in the morning here. Little Chirp is in the shower, and I am here at my computer enjoying my morning coffee. Little Chirp shows excitement about his brother coming home. I got home late from work yesterday, to find Little Chirp had straightened the garage apartment, and was in the process of spraying cleaner and wiping all countertops.
Trooper, Chewy, and Potatoe are snuggled up on a blanket next to me. Winter is running around the house like a crazy kitty. She is mad that I will not let her go outside. She is an indoor kitty. I want to keep her safe. I keep telling her this, but she still chooses to sit and cry at the door.
Angel by Sarah McLachlan is playing on my Echo.
Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There’s always some reason
To feel not good enough
The lyrics of this song are beautiful.
The clouds are now shifting, and blue skies are beginning to emerge. Today is going to be an amazing day! I too am extremely happy to have Brainy Bird home for an entire week. Little Chirp got all of his chores done before I got home from work yesterday. It is time for me to get my own chores done, so we can enjoy the evening and day tomorrow with Brainy Bird.
