It is just past eight in the morning, and my plane to Denver is still in the process of reaching its cruising altitude.  We cross two time zones, it will be just an hour and fifteen minutes or so later than it is now when we land in Denver.  I will have about an hour layover, and then I am off to Las Vegas.  I cannot wait to get there.

I never check my flight status ahead of time.  I must have checked my flight status a few dozen times in the last twenty four hours.  I had multitude of options for getting from Atlanta to Vegas, and I hope that I chose the right option.  So far, all of the options are on time.

With my vacation officially kicked off, I find myself thinking about how I want to spend my time.  I will have two full days on Saturday and Sunday. If everything goes as planned, I will have a near full day today despite flying more than half way across the country thanks to changes in timezones.  Come Monday, I will be headed back to reality.

So many vacation decisions!  Do I enjoy a Bloody Mary on the plane?  Do I work on my book?  Watch a movie?  Which movie?  Do I treat myself to a nice lunch at the Denver airport or hit the crappy food and free drinks at the United Club to save cash for the time in Vegas?

Once I get there, do I go for a run, take a nap, or head hit a card table before I get showered and ready to go out in the evening.  How about all of the above?  I love running in new places.  Where shall I dine?  How much gambling will I do?  So many options!

There are two things that I am sure that I want to do while I am there.  The first is the shark aquarium.  I enjoy aquariums.  The second and much more important of the two, is spending time with my love.  I am pretty sure we can do just about anything and enjoy our first vacation together.  He arrived in Vegas, and I am catching up with him today.

I hope that this is the first of many trips together.  We have both worked hard and made financial decisions to keep our cost of living low and save for the future.  Now, we are looking at spending that future together.  I am in love, and I am happy. 💕
