I am taking a break from a super productive Sunday. It is four o’clock in the afternoon, and I knocked out an entire day’s worth of work, and I managed to get 7.78 miles in so far. My plan for the evening is to close out a couple more work tasks, and then get to bed early. I have a three-day workweek ahead, well four if you count today.
I am taking Thursday and Friday off. Thursday, my love and I will be heading to Vegas. He spent a great deal of time planning our trip, and I feel more than a little excited. A friend of mine said that the way to a woman’s heart is to plan something special for her. I agree with that friend.
In seven days, I will be on day 3 of this trip to Vegas with my love. According to our vacation itinerary, we will be downtown in the late morning/early afternoon. The Golden Nugget is my favorite casino in all of Vegas because of the low table minimums, and the amazing service. Then we will head to Chart House for a late lunch. Chart House is our special place. We will see how we feel, and likely be heading to a show later that evening.
In seven days, actually in less than seven hours, we will know the two teams that will be playing in the Super Bowl. I am hoping that the two teams will be the Chiefs and Lions. Right now, there is about 5 minutes left in the third quarter of the Chief’s game with the Raven’s for the conference championship. The Chiefs lead 17 to 7, but Baltimore is in the middle of a strong drive on offense.
In seven days, the barn and lean to will be paved. Actually, this is happening tomorrow. FINALLY, this only took four years and four months. We finally got the entire barn cleaned out, and the prices for cement have gone back to normal. It took a small dumpster to hold all of the rocks, bricks, and broken cement, and a second dumpster to hold all of the garbage. At one point during Covid, I had two quotes to pave it at just over $10K. Now, I have two quotes at $6K. Needless to say, I am glad that I waited. We will have more than enough space for everything in the garage, so Snoopy (my car) and the wine fridge will have the garage all to themselves, and we will have enough space for Little Chirp’s weight set, and we will have a covered/paved parking space inside the garage for Snowballe (Little Chirp’s car).
But none of this is as exciting as the biggest thing that happens in seven days.
In seven days, while my love and I are in Vegas, Brainy Bird will be turning 21. WHAT??? Given that he lives in South Carolina and has work and school on Friday and Monday, he is not able to join us in Vegas, but we are hoping to take him later in the year when he is home for the summer. I cannot believe that 21 years have passed since he was born. I cannot wait to celebrate with him when he gets home from college in May.
So many exciting things happening already this year. I am excited about the year, the year of the dragon, which begins in seven days after Brainy Bird 21.
Have an amazing year of the dragon!
