It is the first day of March, and life is busy and exciting on all fronts.

Brainy Bird has gone from apprehensive about driving to wanting to drive everywhere.  He has also been extremely helpful around the house in recent weeks.  He loads and unloads the dishes without even being asked, and if I am busy doing something around the house, he asks if he can help.  He has a B in engineering right now, which is not a good thing if he has any hopes of getting into MIT, but I am hoping he will be back at an A before the end of the grading period.

Little Chirp’s end of season basketball tournament is this weekend.  He is loving basketball, but we have not had the best experience with his first ever basketball league.  His coach is basically terrible.  The coach keeps saying that they play basketball different on the west coast.  I am not sure what to make of it.

From a school perspective, Little Chirp is on track to have all A’s all year.  I look forward to rewarding him when he pulls it off for the second year in a row.

The biggest news in March is our new family dog, Potatoe is adjusting well to his new life.  The little guy has gone from the ethunasia list at a kill shelter to the lap of luxury.  If you are thinking of getting a cat or dog, please explore the option of rescuing an animal first.  It breaks my heart to think about all of the animals sitting in cages waiting to die, while people continue to make money breeding certain types of dogs.
