The last day of school was yesterday. Brainy Bird was except from his exams, so he was home all day; actually, he was home already most of this week because of exam exemptions. Little Chirp just had a half day yesterday; he said that they watched a movie.
Once school was officially out, Brainy Bird’s end of school year party kicked off. I worked from home, and we catered with Olive Garden. This made for a no stress, no fuss get together. Once again, all of Brainy Birds’s guests were great kids. I loved the way they all played water volleyball together, and then around 1:30 in the afternoon, they alll went inside together to eat. They then hung out in the living room area for about 30 minutes before they began to debate if they had waited long enough before getting back into the pool. They waited another 15 minutes or so, and then they headed back out for more pool fun.
I got a lot of work done, and the kids had a lot of fun.
Meanwhile, Little Chirp crew went to see Solo, the latest Star Wars movie. A few of the months rounded up the third and forth graders, and from what I hear everyone had a blast. Little Chirp told me all about it while we watched the first game of the NBA finals. I always love hearing his movie highlights. He says, “Okay, spoiler alert. Han Solo meets Chewbacca, and decided that Chewbacca needs a nickname, so he begins calling him ‘Chewy’.” Quite the spoiler there! 😜
Yesterday, was the perfect kick off to what is going to be an amazing summer!
